Manager
Meta is looking for an AI Policy Manager to join our AI Policy team. In this role, you will work closely with the team to navigate novel and complex issues related to the governance of AI, including model behaviors, AI agents, and national security considerations. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners and own key policy domains, lead strategic engagements with industry associations and research centers, support government engagement on AI governance and national security, and develop proactive responses to new and emerging AI governance questions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop policy recommendations for internal decision-making on novel AI governance questions
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on policy positions related to model behavior, AI agents, and national security topics
  • Lead strategic engagements with third parties, including industry associations and research centers, and support government engagement on AI governance and national security
  • Anticipate and shape response to emerging technical developments in AI models and their policy implications, providing insights and recommendations to internal teams
  • Develop and deliver policy strategies and materials for senior leadership
  • Represent Meta in external forums


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, political science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in public policy, with a focus on AI technology or other related technologies
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and the ability to translate emerging or novel technical capabilities into policy implications
  • Proven understanding of the AI policy landscape, including key debates around safety, governance, ethics, and accountability
  • Demonstrated experience owning a policy portfolio or domain end-to-end with track record of driving cross-functional alignment to advance policy goals
  • Proven ability to successfully convey complex policy issues to a wide range of audiences


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • JD or Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and international AI governance frameworks, including US executive actions, federal regulatory guidance, state AI laws, the EU AI Act, and other emerging frameworks
  • Proven experience working directly with AI research and product teams to translate technical capabilities into policy positions
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience interpreting and contextualizing AI model evaluations measuring maximum elicited capabilities, policy adherence, and safeguard performance
