As APAC Senior Privacy Counsel, reporting to Apple’s Senior Privacy Counsel in Beijing, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy issues impacting Apple’s business and products globally. You will work directly with business and engineering teams to provide compliance and geographic counselling integrated into the design of innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues, particularly in China mainland.

Minimum Qualifications


Strong experience and understanding of China mainland data protection and data security laws, with experience and knowledge of privacy laws in other APAC jurisdictions a plus. Excellent academic credentials with at least 8 years privacy experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house or at a mainland China regulator, prior work with MNC a plus. Experienced in dealing with regulators in China mainland regarding data privacy and cybersecurity matters. Based in Beijing or Shanghai, or based in China mainland and willing to move to Beijing or Shanghai. Experienced in handling privacy inquiries, complaints and incidents. Experience in privacy by design reviews and projects, doing data protection impact assessments (DPIA). Experience in drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts, developing compliance and auditing frameworks Extraordinary written and verbal skills in English, and written and verbal fluency in Mandarin Ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company, with a willingness to learn Comfortable expressing a point of view and influencing change in a collaborative manner Admitted to practice law in China mainland.
