Responsibilities
We are the reports and insights team, as part of GenAI and merging products - Operation Enablement.
Emerging Products (EP) includes ByteDance’s overseas product portfolio launched outside China, excluding TikTok. EP covers over 10 products across music, tools, social media, XR, novels, short dramas and games. AI covers generative AI-related products, features and foundation models.
The Operations Enablement team is responsible for translating business demands into system and workflow solutions executed by large-scale regional operation teams, while constantly enhancing the tools, processes and metrics for sustainable operational excellence. We deliver this through capacity planning, workforce allocation, process and workflow governance, design and rollout of system and tooling solutions, end-to-end operations analysis and reporting, and driving org-level AI transformation.
The reports and insights role specializes in defining operational metrics, building scalable data infrastructure, delivering insights-driven performance reporting, and conducting cross-LoB business analysis.
Responsibilities
- Define and iterate on core operational metrics systems and attribution frameworks, ensuring alignment with business strategies and operational needs.
- Collaborate closely with Data Science (DS) and Data Warehouse (DW) teams to manage end-to-end data infrastructure, including dataset optimization, dashboard development, and maintenance.
- Extend data automated reporting solutions and engage in proactive efforts that align with overall business goals
- Develop and deliver comprehensive operational performance data reports, providing accurate, timely insights to track progress and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth cross-LoB business analysis, translating data into actionable recommendations to empower data-driven operational decision-making.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related majors.
- 2+ years of professional experience in Data Analysis, Business Analysis, with a proven track record of delivering data-driven insights to optimize operations.
- Deep expertise in metric system design, attribution analysis, and anomaly detection - able to translate technical analytical frameworks into actionable operational guidelines.
- Proficient in data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) to build intuitive dashboards, paired with advanced skills in SQL, Excel, and statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Strong business acumen and an insight-driven mindset - capable of identifying hidden operational pain points through data and proposing targeted improvement solutions.
- Python programming skills are a significant plus.
