About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Risk Data Science team. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the data strategy for Stripe's risk management products. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the analytical frameworks, metrics, and data products that underpin risk decision-making processes across our platform. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Risk leadership to ensure that data investments are aligned with strategic goals and product roadmaps. Your expertise will help establish reliable, scalable, and insightful risk metrics, enabling Stripe to enhance its risk capabilities at scale.

You will own the creation and management of key risk metrics, ensuring their accuracy, trustworthiness, and visibility to stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead the evolution of Stripe's risk experimentation strategy, designing tests, measuring impacts, and driving continuous improvement. Mentoring junior analysts and setting high standards for analytical excellence will be a vital part of your role, as you help elevate the team's overall performance and analytical rigor.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields
• Proven track record of defining and executing data strategies across multiple teams
• Experience designing experimentation frameworks and measurement strategies for complex systems
• Deep expertise in SQL and proficiency in Python
• Strong ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches
• Experience building and scaling data products, including metrics frameworks, pipelines, and dashboards
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting findings to executive stakeholders
  
  

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related technical fields, experience in risk or trust & safety domains, and familiarity with causal inference and A/B testing in constrained environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain key risk metrics, ensuring their accuracy, trustworthiness, and accessibility
• Develop scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and data products that serve as operational infrastructure for risk decisioning
• Establish and evolve Stripe's risk experimentation framework, including test design, measurement, and learning strategies
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Risk teams to align data initiatives with strategic goals
• Monitor and alert on regressions or anomalies in risk metrics, maintaining data integrity over time
• Mentor and guide junior and senior data analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence
• Translate complex business challenges into actionable data solutions and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders
• Influence product and risk policy decisions through rigorous data analysis and experimentation
