Data Engineering leader

Requirements:

6+ years in data engineering, including 2+ years in a lead role

Strong Python and advanced SQL

Production experience with pipelines and warehouses, ideally on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer)

Airflow, dbt, and dimensional/event-based data modelling

Data quality, monitoring, PII handling, and privacy regulations (GDPR, NDPR)

Experience auditing and improving existing systems

Experience mentoring junior engineers or interns

Responsibilities:

Audit the current data platform and build a phased roadmap

Build and maintain reliable batch and streaming pipelines

Model data and build metrics for product, growth, and operations

Support trust and safety initiatives such as fake review and fraud detection

Lead and mentor a team of data engineering interns

Nice to have: Pub/Sub/Dataflow/Kafka, ML or trust and safety experience, Terraform, Looker or Metabase, marketplace or review platform background.
