About the team and the role:

The Detection & Enforcement Controls Implementation team are responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to policy violations and compliance issues within eBay organization. This role involves working closely with different teams to ensure that all activities are in line with regulatory requirements and company policies. Our team knows the latest risk trends and strategies by analyzing reports, engaging with global teams to identify potential issues, and conducting ad hoc statistical analysis. We are a key partner to our global policy, regulatory, legal and customer support teams!

What you will accomplish:

Develop and drive effective change plans, implementing high quality detection & controls while balancing execution with risk mitigation and operational efficiency via the collection, processing and analysis of data related to policy violations and enforcement actions, and the identification and interpretation of trends or patterns in complex datasets
Be responsible for detection & controls creation, organization, innovation and maintenance of relevant documentation
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve policy enforcement strategies, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis
Promote standard methodology sharing across global teams as well as within own function, supporting shared learning
Collaborate with teams to understand policy/legal requirements and translate them into enforcement control pipelines and partner effectively and maintain positive relationships with Policy, Regulatory, customer support, and global multi-functional teams
Know the latest on industry trends and developments in data analysis and policy enforcement
Prepare regular reports on compliance and enforcement metrics for internal and external collaborators
Lead & support complex projects including collaboration with business units, product management and customer support
Effectively resolve conflict, remove roadblocks, and support or lead on decision-making, or partner concerns that arise
Assist in maintaining enforcement platforms and support deployments
Build, modify, coordinate, and optimize business rules
What you will bring:

Analytical skills with previous experience as a data analyst or related role. Ability to define & clearly articulate success by metrics and data driven measurements
Basic knowledge of machine learning including experience with LLMs as a user
Experience in working with engineering teams
SQL, Excel PivotTable, Tableau and other data visualization experience. Some basic skills in R, Python etc. and/or ability to build useful tools for the group are a plus
Deep understanding and a proven track record in policy enforcement
Ability to work effectively in an autonomous fashion, and willingness to enable the success of partners worldwide
Experience with senior leadership and ability to deliver executive level summary reports and presentations
Experience in project management and change leadership
Demonstrates a good sense for doing the right thing for our customers globally
Strong social skills, communication, and influence abilities. Be a go-to person for technical queries, and an excellent communicator with a can-do demeanor.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. PMP or PRINCE2, Six Sigma, Agile or other certifications a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quickly understand different domains and efficiently work with subject-matter experts to gather knowledge
Ability to structure sophisticated information and present it to the collaborators.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
Experience in crowdsourcing a plus

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$70,000 - $120,700
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
