About The Job

The YouTube Premium Abuse team builds and maintains critical systems designed to detect, prevent, and mitigate abusive activities while ensuring a fair and sustainable environment. Our systems are fundamental to the health and integrity of the YouTube Premium experience.

In this role, you will be a technical leader and people manager for a team dedicated to the safety and integrity of the YouTube Premium ecosystem. You will lead the development of systems that balance complex technical trade-offs, ensuring a seamless user experience while defending against sophisticated adversarial behavior at a global scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$307,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Set the technical vision and lead the architecture of high-availability, low-latency abuse detection and prevention systems at YouTube scale.
  • Drive quarterly planning and the long-term roadmap for anti-abuse solutions, navigating complex ML infrastructure and data pipelines.
  • Represent the team in leadership reviews and maintain key technical partnerships across Google (Data Science, Commerce, Trust & Safety).
  • Ensure excellence in design reviews and system architecture to combat evolving abuse tactics and secure the user experience.
