The Fair Play Agent is a key member of the Trust & Safety organization, dedicated to maintaining a trustworthy competitive environment for all Skillz players. In this role, you will work on the front lines of game-integrity protection by reviewing gameplay reports, identifying suspicious activity, and enforcing Fair Play policies with consistency and accuracy. You will investigate complex cases involving sandbagging, collusion, geospoofing, and other fraudulent behaviors, ensuring every decision is supported by evidence and aligned with platform policies.

Responsibilities 

  • Daily, monitor all Fair Play queues (Sandbagging, Collusion, Match Fairness, Exploits) and review gameplay reports to identify suspicious activity, rule violations, or potential fraud.

  • Investigate sandbagging, cheating, geospoofing, suspicious profit spikes, and other fraudulent behaviors; resolve cases in Zendesk with consistent, policy-aligned decisions.
  • Verify player locations using GeoComply and identify attempts to circumvent geo-restrictions; enforce cash-disabled state rules and partner with the Payments team to analyze high-risk withdrawal cases. 

  • Perform sandbagging audits, analyze gameplay trends, export data, and surface repeat-offender or emerging fraud patterns for team review and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Payments and VIP Support teams to remediate incidents, support appeals, and ensure actions are well-documented and aligned with Fair Play standards.

Key Competencies 

  • Game-Integrity Investigations: Ability to identify cheating patterns, sandbagging, collusion, and gameplay manipulation.
  • Risk & Geo-Compliance Expertise: Skilled in detecting geospoofing, VPN/proxy usage, and restricted-state circumvention using GeoComply and similar tools.

  • Ticketing & Documentation Excellence: Strong accuracy in case handling, record-keeping, and policy-aligned decision-making within Zendesk and internal systems.

  • Data Handling & Reporting: Capable of exporting, analyzing, and summarizing gameplay and investigation data to identify trends and operational gaps.

  • Detail Orientation & Judgment: High integrity, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving fraud patterns and tools.

Experience

  • 1+ year experience in gameplay review, fraud detection, Trust & Safety, or Fair Play operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Zendesk and GeoComply (required).

  • Proven experience identifying VPN/proxy use, enforcing cash-disabled state rules, and evaluating suspicious gameplay behavior.

  • Experience conducting audits, exporting reporting data, and analyzing behavioral or transactional anomalies.

  • Prior work with Payments, Fraud, and Operations teams (preferred).

Total Starting Compensation: $23 / Hourly 

Location: Las Vegas HQ - Onsite for 5 days per week
