We are looking for a Fraud Prevention & Trust & Safety Specialist to help protect MatchMusic, our artists, curators, partners, and distribution ecosystem from fraud, abuse, and platform manipulation.
In this role, you will investigate suspicious activity across payments, subscriptions, credits, payouts, music distribution, promotional services, artist accounts, and streaming activity. You will help identify fraudulent behavior, unauthorized content, account abuse, artificial streaming, royalty manipulation, and other attempts to exploit the platform or our distribution partners.
You will work closely with our Operations, Support, Product, Engineering, and Distribution teams to investigate cases, improve detection systems, and build scalable processes that keep MatchMusic secure, compliant, and fair for legitimate users.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate suspicious accounts, transactions, releases, catalogs, and payout activity across the platform.
- Review identity verification (KYC) cases and escalate high-risk profiles before distribution, withdrawal, or other sensitive access is granted.
- Detect and respond to payment fraud patterns, including chargebacks, stolen payment methods, subscription abuse, and fraudulent transactions.
- Investigate account abuse, account takeovers, duplicate or coordinated accounts, identity fraud, and attempts to bypass platform restrictions.
- Investigate suspicious artist profiles, music catalogs, and releases to identify stolen content, artist impersonation, unauthorized distribution, fraudulent ownership claims, or other rights-related abuse.
- Identify streaming manipulation, artificial engagement, royalty abuse, credit abuse, promotional fraud, and other attempts to exploit MatchMusic or its partners.
- Investigate suspicious royalty or payout activity and identify patterns that may indicate coordinated or fraudulent behavior.
- Review suspicious distribution activity and help prevent fraudulent or non-compliant content from reaching DSPs and other distribution platforms.
- Work with distribution and platform partners when fraudulent activity, artificial streaming, copyright concerns, or suspicious royalty activity is identified.
- Document investigations clearly, maintain accurate case notes, and recommend appropriate account actions, including warnings, restrictions, suspensions, or escalations.
- Develop and improve internal fraud detection rules, risk indicators, investigation procedures, and escalation workflows.
- Partner with Engineering and Product to improve automated alerts, risk scoring, fraud detection systems, and internal tools.
- Work closely with Support and Operations to investigate complex user cases while maintaining a fair and consistent approach to enforcement.
- Track emerging fraud and abuse trends across music distribution, streaming platforms, creator economy businesses, marketplaces, subscriptions, and digital payments.
- Support compliance and platform policy enforcement while ensuring legitimate artists and users have a smooth experience.
Requirements

2+ years of experience in fraud prevention, Trust & Safety, risk operations, financial crime investigations, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience investigating payment fraud, account abuse, suspicious transactions, or payout-related risk. Experience with Stripe or similar payment processors is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing transactions, account activity, metadata, logs, behavioral patterns, and other risk signals.
- Ability to investigate complex cases independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to document investigations clearly and objectively.
- Understanding of common fraud and abuse vectors, including identity theft, synthetic identities, chargebacks, account takeover, payment fraud, promotional abuse, and coordinated account activity.
- Understanding of fraud risks specific to digital platforms, ideally including music distribution, streaming, royalties, creator platforms, marketplaces, or subscriptions.
- Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
