Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in technology or related policy (e.g., within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with internet and AI technologies and their relevant policy frameworks.
  • Experience using AI tools as part of your work.
  • Understanding of the local policy and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly about technical and regulatory issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

About the job:

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a Global Government Affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You will be passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Google externally in policy-making and with the Government in the Philippines.
  • Develop and execute government affairs and public policy strategies in the Philippines that align with Google's mission, objectives and principles.
  • Engage on a wide range of public policy issues around the Internet and AI, including AI governance, online safety, digital economy, content regulation, and competition.
  • Work with trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, academics and others to support policies and programs that support an open internet and a bold and responsible approach to AI.
  • Ensure timely internal communications and information flow locally and with global colleagues, providing counsel to cross-functional teams and leadership.
