Want to help us help others? We’re hiring!

GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.

Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Content Risk Lead Analyst to join our growing Trust & Safety team. This role plays a critical part in protecting our customers from fraud and misuse while ensuring GoFundMe remains a safe and trusted platform. Lead Analysts operate as leaders and subject matter experts, driving operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and high-impact initiatives that safeguard our community and brand.

As a Lead Analyst, you will focus on complex content moderation reviews, high-risk policy escalations, crisis management, project management, and cross-functional initiatives. This is a fast-paced role where you’ll apply advanced judgment, influence stakeholders, and independently lead critical workstreams that strengthen Content Risk operations.

You’ll be part of a team of motivated professionals who are passionate about building trust and protecting our global community. This role offers the opportunity to develop subject matter expertise, lead initiatives, mentor peers, and shape the evolution of our policies and operational processes.

The Job

  • Provide high-quality review and resolution of complex or high-risk escalations across GoFundMe’s platforms, including executive, media, legal, and third-party partner inquiries.
  • Exhibit consistent leadership by ensuring daily coverage needs are met, supporting escalations in real time, and serving as a point of contact during high-impact situations.
  • Independently lead crisis response efforts, including drafting initial guidance, anticipating backlog or enforcement trends, and implementing monitoring measures.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of regulatory policies and enforcement standards, and implement mitigation measures such as keyword rules or workflow improvements when necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Content Moderation, Compliance, and Risk responsibilities, understanding both the “what” and the “why” behind decisions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more specialty areas (e.g., crisis management, legal processes, compliance, product risk, or policy development).
  • Lead or co-lead cross-functional initiatives in partnership with Product, Legal, Compliance, Communications, Trust & Safety teams.
  • Mentor and coach Analyst I, Analyst II, and Senior team members through onboarding, real-time feedback, QA calibration, and hands-on guidance during escalations.
  • Provide quality assessments and auditing support, contributing to continuous improvement of case quality and consistency.
  • Make informed decisions in high-impact or ambiguous scenarios, including circumstances requiring judgment beyond existing guidance.
  • Proactively identify operational gaps, policy ambiguities, or workflow inefficiencies, and partner with leadership to implement scalable solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison for cross-functional stakeholders, adapting communication style to influence and advise on complex matters.

This position may involve reviewing sensitive material, which can include disturbing images, videos, or text, as well as offensive language and other challenging content (e.g., violence, exploitation, or self-injury). Some weekend and holiday work may be required as part of scheduled shifts, as well as being a member of our on-call team for emergencies.

You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, content moderation, fraud prevention, compliance, or a related field within a technology-driven environment.
  • Advanced expertise in trust and safety practices, online content integrity, crisis response, and regulatory enforcement.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex investigations, executive escalations, and high-impact or sensitive cases.
  • Proven track record of leading projects or cross-functional initiatives that drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Experience mentoring peers, facilitating onboarding, and providing structured feedback or QA calibration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex scenarios and adapt existing approaches creatively.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively across teams, including senior internal partners.
  • Sound judgment in ambiguous situations, with the ability to make decisions that may impact customers, brand, and team operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including ownership of coverage, escalation management, and proactive planning.
  • Willingness and resilience to review potentially graphic or objectionable material (e.g., violence, exploitation, or offensive content).
  • Strong alignment with GoFundMe’s core values: impatient to be great, find a way, earn trust every day, fueled by purpose.
