About TiriVelo

TiriVelo Pet Care Services Inc. is a growing Canadian technology startup building a trusted marketplace that connects pet owners with verified pet care providers across Canada.

Our mission is simple:

Companionship You Can Trust. Care You Can Count On.

We're building much more than a booking platform; we're creating an ecosystem focused on trust, safety, transparency, and exceptional customer experiences for both pet owners and pet care professionals.

Our product is being designed in collaboration with talented students and professionals from institutions including Designlab, Springboard, Bellevue College, National University, Algonquin College, University of Waterloo, Mercy University, London Metropolitan University, and many others.

As we continue preparing for launch, we're looking for someone passionate about legal research, documentation, compliance, and helping establish the legal foundation of a growing startup.

About the Role

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Founder and leadership team while helping establish many of the legal processes that support the future growth of TiriVelo.

Rather than simply reviewing existing documents, you'll contribute to creating the legal framework that will support a real technology company preparing for launch.

Your work may include researching legislation, reviewing policies, improving legal documentation, organizing compliance records, supporting intellectual property initiatives, and helping ensure our platform continues to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

If you're interested in startup law, technology, contracts, privacy, intellectual property, or corporate governance, this internship provides valuable hands-on experience that goes far beyond a traditional legal internship.

  • Assisting with contract drafting and document review
  • Supporting intellectual property and trademark research
  • Researching provincial and federal regulatory requirements
  • Organizing corporate documentation and compliance records
  • Supporting policy development and internal legal documentation
  • Assisting with business registrations and corporate filings when required
  • Documenting legal research findings for internal teams
  • Collaborating with Operations, Product Design, Engineering, and Leadership teams to ensure platform features align with legal and compliance requirements

Ideal Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in:
  • Law
  • Paralegal Studies
  • Legal Administration
  • Business Law
  • Public Policy
  • Corporate Governance
  • or a related discipline
  • Strong researcher with excellent analytical skills
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting legal documents
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to manage confidential information professionally
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn

Previous internship experience is not required.

What You'll Gain

At TiriVelo, you'll gain experience that extends beyond a typical internship.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape the legal foundation of a real startup preparing for launch
  • Work directly with company leadership
  • Build experience in corporate documentation and compliance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Product Design, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations
  • Develop research and analytical skills through meaningful projects
  • Strengthen your professional portfolio and résumé with real-world legal work
  • Receive mentorship and regular feedback throughout your internship
  • Work remotely with a flexible schedule that supports your academic commitments

Why Join TiriVelo?

We're passionate about giving students meaningful work and not busy work.

Many of our interns have worked directly on projects that have gone from concept to production, collaborated with engineers and designers across multiple countries, and gained startup experience that extends well beyond a traditional classroom environment.
