This is a hybrid role based in our Los Angeles or Bay Area offices and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We're seeking an exceptional lawyer to lead this critical area of our legal portfolio and serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, including executives. In addition to managing a diverse litigation portfolio and driving day-to-day litigation strategy, you will provide counseling to help mitigate future legal risks. Over time, you may also have the opportunity to expand into and take ownership of other areas of our legal work. You’ll be joining a lean, fast-paced team where every member plays a key role in advancing Grindr’s mission.

What’s the job?

Manage and oversee a wide variety of litigation matters, including commercial, employment, intellectual property, privacy, user harm, and consumer protection disputes.

Serve as the primary liaison with external counsel, driving case strategy, budgeting, and efficient resolution of disputes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Trust & Safety, Privacy, and Communications—to assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential litigation exposure.

Advise internal teams on pre-litigation disputes, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations.

Lead efforts to identify trends and recurring legal issues to improve policies, practices, and compliance.

Report to our VP of Legal.

What we'll love about you

JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

7+ years of litigation experience, with at least 3 years at a top-tier law firm; in-house experience at a consumer technology company strongly preferred.

Substantial experience managing complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and dispute resolution.

Strong knowledge of privacy, platform liability, IP, and/or consumer protection issues is a plus.

Excellent judgment, communication and leadership skills, and ability to provide clear, pragmatic guidance in fast-moving situations.

Comfortable contributing hands-on to daily execution and proactively managing multiple priorities in a lean, high-performing environment.

Ability to build strong relationships with internal cross-functional partners.
