TELUS Digital is building a high-impact team of Machine Learning Consultants working alongside Policy Enforcement specialists to provide actionable insights on AI decision-making. As a Machine Learning Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing, fine-tuning, and optimizing machine learning models for content moderation and policy enforcement. You will evaluate complex, nuanced content, provide feedback on AI reasoning processes, and collaborate with policy experts to ensure model outputs align with organizational guidelines. Your work will directly influence model performance, annotation workflows, and the quality of AI-driven policy decisions. Main Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide feedback on AI model outputs and reasoning (chain-of-thought) for nuanced Trust & Safety cases. Perform high-quality content annotations in collaboration with Policy Experts. Support supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning (RLHF) processes. Conduct data analysis to detect patterns, trends, and model weaknesses. Produce clear reports and insights for engineering and policy teams. Collaborate closely with policy enforcement teams to ensure ML models adhere to guidelines. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive content responsibly. Requirements: 2+ year experience in AI model supervised fine-tuning or reinforcement learning (RLHF) 2+ year experience in Machine Learning operations (MLOps) 1+ year experience in User-Generated Content (UGC) moderation / Trust & Safety operations Strong data analysis, trend detection, and report writing skills Ability to handle gray-area or edge-case scenarios Native level English communication skills Detail-oriented with ability to follow complex workflows and guidelines TELUS Values: TELUS recognizes and embraces the importance of values in our ever-changing workplace.
