You will build the next generation of intelligent, data-driven risk defense systems, combining strategy, product thinking and AI to safeguard the health of the global content ecosystem and continuously raise the industry's standard for risk governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop intelligent risk detection and mitigation solutions for TikTok's global ecosystem across multiple product scenarios, including short-form video, LIVE, social interaction, and emerging products, with a focus on identifying and preventing abusive and fraudulent activities (e.g. scams, gambling, pornography, fake engagement, and other policy-violating behaviors).
  • Build and deploy large-scale AI/ML models leveraging Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), sequential learning, graph learning, and multimodal technologies to detect high-risk users, content, and behaviors from massive-scale images, videos, text, user interactions, and social networks.
  • Research and develop next-generation risk intelligence and anti-abuse algorithms by mining complex behavioral patterns, modeling adversarial attack strategies, and proactively discovering emerging threats to continuously enhance the security and integrity of TikTok's ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, data science, and operations teams to transform cutting-edge AI technologies into production-ready risk control solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Continuously improve model performance through offline analysis, online experimentation, and large-scale data mining, balancing detection effectiveness, latency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI and trust & safety technologies, exploring the application of LLMs, multimodal foundation models, graph learning, and agentic AI to solve real-world security and abuse challenges.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):

  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience in one or more AI/ML domains, including Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Sequence Modeling, Graph Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or related fields.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with strong software engineering fundamentals. Familiar with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Hive, Spark, Flink) and experienced in working with large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning or deep learning models. Ability to translate algorithms into production solutions and validate their effectiveness through offline and online evaluation.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous problems in large-scale production environments.

Preferred Qualification(s):

  • Experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Control, Fraud Detection, Content Moderation, or related security domains is preferred.
  • Experience applying AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, CV, NLP, Graph Learning, AI Agents) to build intelligent products or solve large-scale real-world business problems.
  • Familiarity with risk control strategies, user behavior analysis, anomaly detection, or large-scale online machine learning systems is a plus.
