Trust Fundamentals organization is responsible for maintaining and raising the trust bar for Amazon customers across a diverse set of 30+ Devices and Services (D&S) including Alexa, FireTV, Kindle, Tablets, Automotive, Robotics, Photos, Kids and more! Our team ensures that we preserve the trust of customers and protect their data through every interaction with our products and services.

We are looking for a Software Development Manager with strong technical knowledge and critical thinking skills that is excited in partnering with teams across Devices & Services to safely build AI into their products -- as well as innovating and adopting the latest AI-driven software development best practices. You should be creative thinker that is passionate about solving new and challenging problems. The role demands a high-performing and flexible candidate who can take responsibility for success of the team, systems, and drive solutions from definition to launch to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

As an Software Development Manager you will lead a large software engineering team focused on multiple horizontal solutions for the devices business. You will define and evolve the teams practices, and own your team's product vision and roadmap. You'll ensure that the best engineering practices are followed and that our software is of the highest quality. You will be a key contributor in our product vision, partnering with product management teams to help define and develop a roadmap of customer-delighting features.

Key job responsibilities
* Work with Org leadership, the product team, legal and other engineering teams that will adopt our solutions to define and drive the technical and architectural vision of this team.
* Build scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available services that solve horizontal privacy problems across the devices space
* Identify and solve complex problems in the ambient computing and privacy space
* Build GenAI based solutions for previously manual processes that will enable the larger Trust Fundamentals team to focus on net new privacy problems
* Build and grow a team of high performing SDEs, and be responsible and invested in career growth of your team members.
* Drive operational excellence initiatives and continuously improve quality bar for software delivered by the team.
* Be a good human who enjoys working with a fun team. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 9+ years of engineering experience
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
