Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields.
  • 1 year of experience in people management, leading a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • 7 years of experience in fraud/risk investigations, content operations, content moderation, policy enforcement, program management, operations management, process design or consulting.
  • 3 years of people management experience in an operations environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

About the jobTrust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Trust and Safety Operations Manager, you will lead a team to drive impactful changes in how T&S and Google operate. You will deliver business impact by setting, communicating, and achieving team priorities aligned with organizational goals. You will ensure the right metrics, roles, and people are in place, making necessary prioritization decisions, equitably allocating work, and managing resources effectively. You will adapt to changes and remove obstacles to maintain goal progress, encourage innovation and thoughtful risk-taking to deliver business impact for Google. Additionally, you will set clear, role and level-aligned expectations for each Googler and provide regular coaching and feedback to support their success. You will foster a culture of psychological safety, and respect, while facilitating open communication and collaboration to help the team achieve results together.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen global partnerships with executive stakeholders, serving as a trusted domain expert to advance shared Trust and Safety goals.
  • Deliver persuasive, nuanced communications to various audiences, effectively navigating negotiations and alignment with cross-functional partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and hold teams accountable, guiding them toward high-impact work and aligning individual growth with organizational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Drive high-impact projects from concept to completion, translating ambiguous challenges into clear, systemic trust and safety solutions.
  • Evaluate business data and trade-offs to make highly desirable decisions that balance risk, user experience, and business objectives.
