Responsibilities
The Trust & Safety team at TikTok ensures our global community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all our applications. The Policy Scaling team serves as an essential governance function and bridges from policy principle to actual enforcement — ensuring that policies reflect and account for the nuances of actual content and user behavior, are consistently applied, and are continuously improved.
We are looking for a Policy Manager to drive governance and consistency of Nudity & Sexual Activity policy enforcement across all surfaces and moderation methods. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, requiring the ability to translate Nudity & Sexual Activity policy intent into actionable guidance, produce high-quality evaluation data, and provide subject-matter expertise across human and automated workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own High-Quality Labeling & Evaluation Data: Support on production of high-confidence labeled datasets to support policy performance evaluation across features and identify areas of ambiguity that need to be addressed through policy guidance for Nudity & Sexual Activity content.
- Maintain Policy Guidance: Author and maintain internal Nudity & Sexual Activity policy guidance to ensure T&S teams are aligned on how to apply policies across a range of methodologies.
- Cross-Method Consistency Oversight: Evaluate how Nudity & Sexual Activity policies are applied across human moderation, automation, and hybrid workflows — identifying gaps, drift, or unintended inconsistencies.
- Escalation Support: Provide subject-matter guidance and support to escalation teams handling high complexity, nuanced Nudity & Sexual Activity trends in your issue area.
- Structured Feedback for Policy Development: Identify ambiguity, operational friction, emerging harm patterns, and unintended consequences in Nudity & Sexual Activity enforcement — and provide structured feedback to refine policy drafting.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Trust & Safety and Content Policy, including demonstrated expertise in the Nudity & Sexual Activity policy space.
- Demonstrated ability to translate policy language into clear, actionable guidance and labeled datasets, particularly within the Nudity & Sexual Activity policy space.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, particularly in evaluating content at scale and identifying patterns of inconsistency or drift in Nudity & Sexual Activity enforcement along with a deep understanding of Nudity & Sexual Activity policy challenges and enforcement dynamics on social media platforms.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft precise internal documentation, case banks, and policy notices related to Nudity & Sexual Activity content and enforcement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver timely, accurate guidance during crisis or fast-moving events involving emerging Nudity & Sexual Activity trends.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside policy, product, enforcement, data science, and engineering teams.
- Technical aptitude and comfort navigating moderation tools, labeling platforms, and data analysis workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across multiple surfaces (feed, search, live, DMs, etc.) or multiple regions.
- Background in quality assurance, audit, or compliance within a technology or content moderation environment.
