This role will sit within the USDS Product policy team. You will need to cultivate a deep understanding of the platform, its Trust and Safety policies, the Community Guidelines and the interplay of those rules with promotional levers that put content in front of the end user. This will require developing systems for tracking and anticipating user behavior and identifying thoughtful and creative policy solutions in a fast moving environment. You will work closely with a variety of internal partners including Policy, Product, Legal, Operations, and Quality Analysis to ensure that TikTok is able to detect, triage, and prevent safety incidents.

As the ecosystem of products within our portfolio grows, the complexity of our promotional workflows expands with it. This role sits within the USDS T&S Policy Implementation Team, focusing on the critical "grey area" that exists between Trust & Safety and Brand Safety.

The Content Integrity Policy Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of policy processes that govern how content is promoted to users. You will develop a deep understanding of platform Community Guidelines and their interplay with promotional levers, Emerging Products, Discoverability, and Monetization Integrity. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of operational excellence, technical acumen, and nuanced policy judgment.

Responsibilities
- Workflow Execution: Execute Editorial Policy workflows for promoted content across emerging products, ensuring strict compliance with safety requirements and promotional standards.
- Operational Calibration: Lead regular calibration sessions with USDS Ops teams, QA, and moderators to ensure consistent, accurate, and high-quality policy enforcement.
- Stakeholder Consultancy: Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional (XFN) partners, providing expert guidance on policy nuances to support product initiatives and escalations.
- Trend Analysis: Collaborate with XFN partners to monitor emerging US social media trends and problematic behaviors to proactively prevent potential Community Guideline violations.
- Optimization & SLAs: Develop and execute improvement plans for Content Integrity workflows, enhancing processes to improve performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Data & Reporting: Gather data on policy execution to support the creation of metric reports, helping to measure impact and identify systemic areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Assist in developing and maintaining training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure global alignment on Content Integrity Policies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Trust & Safety, Content Policy, Brand Safety, or a related field, with a focus on how product features can be exploited.
- Policy Expertise: Demonstrated systematic thought process regarding policy development and thorough experience in operationalizing complex rules.
- Operational Excellence: Proven ability to structure process-oriented milestones and thrive in a ambiguous environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy "grey areas" into actionable guidance.
- Resilience: Experience working with sensitive subject matter while maintaining professionalism and personal resilience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Intermediate SQL skills and advanced proficiency in Excel are required to access data and track operational performance.
- Global Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with international partners across different time zones.
- Research Skills: Experience developing sound research methodologies to collect, synthesize, and interpret data for complex policy projects.

Content that this role interacts with includes images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals. 【For Pay Transparency】 Compensation Description (Annually) - Washington, DC
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $ 66120 - $ 152000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
