You’ll play an important part in upholding Apple’s high ethical and corporate standards and in expanding Apple’s services in the EMEIA region. You will support the EMEIA Privacy Legal Team and work directly with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues.

Apple is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and proactive (Senior) Privacy Counsel to join its team, focusing on privacy and data protection across the Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) region, with a particular focus on supporting the team in the EU. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on GDPR and on regional privacy and data protection laws, collaborating closely with Apple’s global Privacy and Legal teams to ensure compliance with local requirements. You will be actively involved in geo-expansion work across the region, supporting the launch of Apple’s products and services in new markets. This work offers the opportunity to navigate and learn from the unique legal, regulatory, and geopolitical challenges that arise when expanding into diverse and fast-evolving jurisdictions. You will monitor and evaluate evolving privacy regulations and political developments, advising on their potential impact on Apple’s business. Additionally, you will engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to advocate for Apple’s interests and support its business operations by managing privacy risks in the region’s complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. You will also conduct Data Protection Impact and Legitimate Interest Assessments for new products and services and help the team meet obligations under the GDPR and other regional privacy frameworks. Willingness to travel within the EMEIA region and globally as needed.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum of 4 years of experience in privacy law within a law firm, government, or in-house environment. Deep expertise and practical understanding of the GDPR and its application to product development, compliance work and documentation, GDPR related litigation and regulatory engagement. Experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), particularly in connection with new product launches and services. Experience managing privacy inquiries, complaints, and incidents, and integrating privacy by design principles into products and internal processes and employee privacy matters. Experience setting up and maintaining international data transfer frameworks and related compliance documentation. Strong business acumen and ability to balance legal risk with strategic and operational needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts to technical and non-legal stakeholders. Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities under tight timelines. Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. Experience setting up and maintaining international data transfer frameworks and related compliance documentation. Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diverse legal and political landscape in the EMEIA Region. Fluency in English required Bachelor of Law, J.D., LL.B, or equivalent legal degree.

Preferred Qualifications


Ability to advise on complex regulatory, legal, and geopolitical issues affecting privacy and data protection across the EMEIA region, including during geo-expansion projects and market entries. Additional knowledge of privacy laws and regulations in India, Turkey, Israel, and across the Middle East and Africa and their growing impact on global data protection is a plus. Experience supporting and coordinating regulatory documentation obligations under GDPR and other regional privacy laws. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government agencies, data protection authorities, and policymakers, balancing advocacy with compliance. Willingness to travel within the EMEIA region and globally as needed. Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diverse legal and political landscape in the EMEIA Region.
