Ria Money Transfer, a business segment of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT), delivers innovative financial services including fast, secure, and affordable global money transfers to millions of customers along with currency exchange, mobile top-up, bill payment and check cashing services, offering a reliable omnichannel experience. About This Role

You’ll be the Fraud team’s technical “decisioning” Data Scientist—building real-time visibility into fraud performance, developing ML models that improve approval/decline decisions, and translating analysis into rules/strategies that reduce fraud and false positives.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build real-time monitoring (dashboards + alerts)
  • Design and own fraud KPIs and operational metrics (approval rate, fraud/chargeback rate, return rate, false positives, manual review load, conversion impact, latency).
  • Build and maintain live dashboards and automated reporting for Fraud, Operations, and Product (near real-time where possible).
  • Create alerting for anomalies (fraud spikes, rule regressions, vendor decision shifts, attacks like carding/fraud rings, data quality breaks).
  • Define data contracts/definitions so metrics are consistent across teams and vendors.
  • Build ML models that improve risk decisions
  • Develop supervised and/or semi-supervised models to predict fraud risk and optimize accept/decline thresholds.
  • Build features using transaction, customer, device, behavioral, and identity signals; validate performance and robustness.
  • Run experiments (A/B tests, champion/challenger, backtesting) and quantify business impact (loss reduction, approval lift, cost-to-serve).
  • Partner with engineering to productionize models (batch + streaming scoring when needed), monitor drift, and retrain on schedule.
  • Analyze and propose new rules to reduce fraud and false positives
  • Identify patterns and root causes of fraud losses and false positives; translate findings into rule proposals and strategy changes.
  • Build rule logic that complements ML (hybrid approach) and is maintainable by Fraud Ops (clear documentation, test cases, rollout plans).
  • Evaluate rule performance with pre/post analysis and guardrails (customer impact, operational workload, segment-level bias checks).
  • Improve decision explainability so stakeholders can understand “why” decisions happen even when models are complex.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years in data science / risk / fraud / credit / trust & safety (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience building decisioning models and deploying or operationalizing them.
  • Strong SQL + Python; experience working with large-scale datasets and event pipelines.
  • Experience with dashboarding/BI and building KPI frameworks (tool-agnostic).
  • Bonus: experience with rules engines, vendor-managed decisioning, payments, chargebacks/returns, and identity signals.

Perks & Benefits

  • Annual Salary Review
  • Year-End Bonus
  • 15% Off EEFT Stock
  • Birthday Day Off
  • Health, Cancer, Dental & Life Insurance
  • Free Money Transfers with Ria
  • ‍♂ SmartFit Gym Partnership
