Manager
As a Specialized Assessment Product Risk Program Manager (SA PRPM), you will be a critical driver in Meta’s risk management and product integrity efforts. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, legal, and regulations — triaging and supporting risk review for new products and features that challenge company policy, introduce novel or untested risk, or require specialized scrutiny. Your work will shape how Meta assesses high-risk product decisions, often in fast-moving or ambiguous contexts. You’ll help guide cross-functional partners through escalation workflows, support aligned decision-making, and ensure that the right voices are in the room to evaluate complex tradeoffs. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy—proactively identifying important problems, exercising independent judgment, and contributing to the strategy and roadmap for cross-functional risk review. The ideal person will have exceptional judgment, strategic foresight, and the ability to operate across multiple risk domains. This is a senior individual-contributor role. Success means managing and delivering large-scale programs, aligning solutions across multiple teams, and gaining recognition as a subject-matter expert whose advice is sought out across the product and risk community.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage the triage and escalation process for product risks that are novel, ambiguous, or policy-challenging.
  • Coordinate across Legal, Policy, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to ensure high-risk reviews are surfaced and addressed with the appropriate depth and speed; network with and appropriately involve key stakeholders, persuading diverse audiences to drive progress.
  • Translate complex technical and product concepts into structured assessments and recommendations.
  • Facilitate decision-making through risk-based frameworks that support both product velocity and compliance; seek clarity on goals and priorities so work can move forward quickly, and escalate as needed.
  • Ensure escalations are documented, tracked, and resolved with transparency and consistency, maintaining appropriate documentation and timely follow-through.
  • Identify gaps or breakdowns in current escalation/review processes and drive improvements in workflows, guidance, or tooling; actively experiment and seek opportunities to simplify work through AI-integrated workflows.
  • Help Meta meet its legal and regulatory obligations and make decisions that reflect our mission, values, and principles, informed by risk reviews and compliance guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, product operations, trust & safety, privacy, compliance or in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver high-pressure, high-ambiguity projects involving dependencies across multiple stakeholders, teams, or functions
  • Experience assessing and triaging novel or ambiguous product risks, particularly where no established policy, process, or precedent exists
  • Strong communication and cross-functional alignment skills — especially in navigating sensitive tradeoffs
  • Familiarity with data flows, technical systems, and/or understanding of product risks and their applicable mitigations
  • Track record of influencing decisions and driving progress without formal authority
  • Experience building, improving, or operationalizing risk review, escalation, assessment, or governance processes
  • Strong judgment in situations involving competing priorities, incomplete information, and significant business, regulatory, safety, privacy, or reputational risk
  • Experience using AI/automation to improve complex workflows, analysis, decision-making, or operational processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort embracing ambiguity and improving systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on privacy, content, legal, or compliance-related product issues
  • Experience with consumer-facing technology, platforms, AI/ML products, infrastructure, or other technically complex products
  • Experience with product launches, 0→1 products, emerging technologies, or novel product capabilities
  • Experience working with AI agents, automation, or other emerging technologies to improve risk assessment and operational efficiency
  • Understanding of regulatory, reputational, or policy risks related to consumer-facing technology
  • Experience developing and driving strategy or roadmap for cross-functional projects and/or teams
  • Background in triaging or adjudicating product-level risks, ideally in a platform or infrastructure context
  • Comfort presenting risk perspectives to senior stakeholders and leading through ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
