About Motorway

Motorway is the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace - our online-only platform connects private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide, ensuring everyone gets the best deal. Founded in 2017, our award-winning, technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car. Motorway is backed by some of the world’s leading technology investors, having raised £143 million in Series C funding.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.

A better car market only works if people trust it. This role exists to make sure they can.

Motorway is the UK's leading online car marketplace, connecting private sellers with over 7,500 verified dealers who compete to offer the best price. We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Marketplace Trust function - owning the delivery of programmes and initiatives that protect our users and the integrity of our platform. You'll help manage multiple high-impact projects, partnering with data, legal, and product teams to identify threats, build solutions, and make Motorway the most trusted place to buy and sell a car in the UK. This is a 9 month Fixed Term Contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of Marketplace Trust projects - defining scope, timelines, success metrics, and resource requirements across the full project lifecycle.

  • From week one, get under the skin of the key threats to user trust on the Motorway platform and turn that understanding into structured, actionable project plans.

  • Work with our data team to build deeper insight into trust trends on the platform, helping inform decision-making at senior leadership level.

  • Present project updates, risks, and dependencies directly to the senior leadership team - this role has real visibility at the top of the business.

  • Work closely with the Head of Legal & Risk to drive awareness of the team's impact and expand our influence across the organisation.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to make sure trust isn't just a principle - it's visible in how we operate, how we make decisions, and how we hold ourselves accountable.

  • Support the design and delivery of internal training programmes on marketplace trust topics.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of delivering cross-functional initiatives on time and to scope.

  • Background in or strong exposure to trust, safety, compliance, fraud prevention, risk management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.

  • Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and operational frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable working with data to identify trends, spot threats, and inform decisions.

  • Clear, confident communicator who can translate complex issues into straightforward plans and updates for a range of stakeholders.

  • You ask why things happen, not just what happened — and you use that to design better solutions, not just better reports.

  • You care about the integrity of what we're building — not just in principle, but in the details of how threats get identified, mitigated, and learned from.
