Join AWS Public Policy team to help shape the future of cloud computing in the UK. We're seeking an experienced Public Policy professional to drive AWS's engagement with policy-makers and industry bodies across the UK. This London-based role will lead our policy initiatives on broader economic and digital policy matters affecting cloud computing in the UK and will work on other EMEA projects.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and execute policy strategies on key economic and digital policy developments affecting cloud computing
Lead AWS's engagement with UK government departments and parliamentarians on those policies
Manage relationships with trade associations and industry coalitions
Drive thought leadership initiatives and policy research projects
Coordinate with other AWS and Amazon teams to ensure alignment
About The Team
This position will report to the Director, Public Policy, and work closely with other public policy team members to execute on goals.
Basic Qualifications
Relevant experience in public affairs, government relations, or trade associations
Deep understanding of UK political and regulatory processes
Proven track record in technology policy advocacy
Strong existing network within UK government and industry circles
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in law, economics, or related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
In-house public affairs experience in technology sector
Legal background with experience in a law firm
Strong project management capabilities and stakeholder management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Strategic thinking and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
Experience in building coalitions
