Quality Analyst, Trust & Safety - USDS

Responsibilities
Trust and Safety Operations is a pivotal team within U.S. Data Security. We strive to enable TikTok to become the most trusted and secure platform in the US through operational excellence in content moderation via innovations in technology, optimization in processes and investment in people. We ensure that we enforce our policies based on our community guidelines and we take appropriate actions in a timely manner to minimize risks on our platform to our users and advertisers. The Quality Assurance Analyst I - at USDS plays a crucial role in upholding the quality and safety of the TikTok platform. This advanced position involves assessing the quality of performance by moderation sites, reviewing sensitive and graphic content, and ensuring compliance with policies and processes to protect users and the platform.

This team performs a critical function that supports our efforts to address objectionable or disturbing content. Content that this role interacts with includes images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; and murder.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
- Assess the overall quality of performance by moderation sites, ensuring strict compliance with TikTok's policies and processes.
- Review TikTok content, including sensitive and graphic material, to enforce policy decisions and maintain user safety.
- Lead calibration sessions and participate actively in engagement with moderation sites to align on policy compliance.
- Manage and lead AdHoc projects aimed at enhancing quality assurance practices.
- Conduct weekly audits and perform detailed data analysis on error trends to identify improvement areas.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in content risk identification, control measures, and a complete understanding of the moderation and QA process.
- Collaborate on process improvements, acting as a thought partner to foster innovation and efficiency within the team.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in content moderation, quality assurance, or similar areas.
- Exceptional problem identification and solution recommendation abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and convincingly for the intended audience.
- Intermediate proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and drawing practical conclusions from data, and communicating findings effectively.
- Demonstrated professionalism and an understanding of organizational priorities.
- Experience handling sensitive and graphic content, with a strong commitment to user safety and platform integrity.
