About the Team
The US T&S Programs team mobilizes people, processes, and products and delivers data and expert insights that enable the collective impact of USDS Trust & Safety teams in upholding the safety, integrity, and compliance of TikTok in the US. We are seeking a Transparency Program Lead to join the Trust and Safety team. As a Transparency Program Lead, you will report to the Head of T&S Programs and lead the program that supports external understanding of our safety-related efforts. This role serves at the intersection of a diverse set of internal teams such as data science, product, legal, government relations, and communications and is the function that organizes and drives progress against this complex but critically important topic.

This role may be exposed to harmful content as part of their core day-to-day functions, as well as in project work; in response to escalation requests; or by chance.

Some content viewed my violate our community guidelines which include but are not limited to bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; and murder.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities
- Improve and manage the data ecosystems that support TikTok USDS transparency.
- Develop standard operating procedures that enable data consistency and interoperability between TikTok USDS and broader ByteDance transparency programs.
- Create production roadmaps for new disclosures and metrics.
- Coordinate requirements, internal analyses, and reviews from technical and non-technical teams.
- Oversee data quality assurance programs and develop clear success metrics.
- Manage executive leadership communications and reporting, distilling critical updates on transparency program status, risks/issues, business impact, and recommendations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with 5+ years experience in cross-functional program management or a directly relevant role (Technical Program Management, Data Analysis, Data Engineering)
- Relevant experience working in Trust and Safety
- Proven ownership and accountability in driving and overseeing multiple complex and cross-functional technical programs from initiation to delivery at scale
- Able to collaborate with stakeholders across many layers of the business; ability to translate between technical and non-technical teams and executives
- Detailed analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems and datasets
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership, and capacity to adapt and thrive in fast-paced work environments with rapidly shifting landscapes and priorities
- Solid understanding of emerging online safety issues and a passion for creating solutions and preventive measures for tackling them.

Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the landscape and new policy developments in new media, tech, and the entertainment industry
- Familiarity with human moderation and machine learning for removing harmful content
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.

Job Information
【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $147000 - $270000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
