Senior Adjudicator / Assistant Team Lead
ADROITADROIT is building the future of digital justice. As the European Union’s first certified Out-of-Court Dispute Settlement (ODS) Body under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (DSA), we provide independent, fast, fair, and fully digital dispute resolution between online platforms and their users across the EU. We operate in various languages and hold certifications under multiple legal frameworks including the ADR Directive.
Operating at the intersection of law, technology, and fundamental rights, ADROIT resolves complex cases involving content moderation, account suspensions, demonetization, e-commerce delistings, and online harms. We are expanding our operational capability and seeking a Senior Adjudicator & Assistant Team Lead to help mentor our growing international team and shape quality standards in digital alternative dispute resolution.
This tole involves a dual-capacity, where you will act as a senior decision-maker in high-complexity disputes while serving as Assistant Team Lead for ADROIT’s team of adjudicators. You will ensure that our case outcomes meet the highest standards of legal reasoning, fundamental rights compliance, and procedural efficiency under the DSA, P2B Regulation, and relevant EU consumer protection frameworks.
Working directly alongside the Chief Executive Officer and Team Lead, you will balance active caseload management with team mentorship, quality control, and procedural refinement.
As a Senior Case Decision Maker at ADROIT, you will manage a caseload of disputes via our online platform, guiding cases from intake to resolution. Working closely with the management team and support staff, you will be responsible for assessing case facts, interpreting legal principles, and drafting decisions that are fair, impartial, well-reasoned and actionable.

In the initial phase, you’ll collaborate with our locally based assistant and senior team members to adapt systems and procedures to an evolving digital justice ecosystem. You'll also receive comprehensive training from experienced dispute settlement professionals to ensure smooth onboarding and operational consistency.
1. Adjudication & Case Resolution (Senior Level)
- Review, analyze, and adjudicate complex, high-complexity, or novel cross-border disputes between online platform providers (including VLOPs/VLOSEs) and users.
- Evaluate platform terms of service, community guidelines, and automated moderation actions against EU law, fundamental rights and applicable law.
- Draft well-reasoned, clear, and impartial dispute settlement recommendations and decisions within strict statutory timelines.
2. Team Leadership & Quality Assurance
- Assist the Team Lead in managing daily case allocation, monitoring team capacity, and tracking case progression through our digital case management system.
- Conduct peer reviews and quality audits on draft determinations prepared by junior adjudicators to ensure legal consistency and procedural accuracy.
- Provide ongoing training, onboarding, and legal mentorship to team members on evolving EU digital legislation and internal rules of procedure.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex procedural questions or challenging situations.
3. Process Optimization & Legal Standards
- Collaborate with executive leadership to refine ADROIT’s internal rules of procedure, decision templates, and best-practice guidelines.
- Help identify emerging trends in platform moderation, technical automation failures and opportunities, and user grievances to inform ADROIT’s aggregate reporting and transparency initiatives.
You will work on
- High-volume, real-world disputes involving major online platforms
- Novel legal questions around:
- Platform governance
- Algorithmic moderation
- Balancing rights (e.g. speech vs. safety)
- Evolving regulatory environment where procedural standards are still being shaped
Must-Haves:
- Legal Qualification: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.M. / LL.B. or equivalent European legal qualification).
- Relevant Experience: 3–5+ years of professional legal experience, ideally in alternative dispute resolution (ADR/ODR), technology law, media law, EU law fundamental rights, or regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Digital Services Act (EU 2022/2065), the P2B Regulation, ADR Directive consumer protection laws, and EU digital governance frameworks.
- Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in additional official EU languages (specifically German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Dutch) is a strong advantage.
- Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrated experience or natural aptitude for team mentoring, quality review, and workload management.
