As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of talented data scientists dedicated to ensuring a safe and well-moderated user experience. You will oversee analytical initiatives that influence strategy, product decisions, and operational improvements, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, design, and operations. This role combines leadership, hands-on data science expertise, and strategic thinking to drive impactful insights and measurable outcomes. You will mentor your team, foster a high-performance culture, and guide the development of models, metrics, and analytical frameworks. The position offers the opportunity to influence large-scale safety and moderation systems while shaping the professional growth of your team in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Accountabilities:
• Lead and manage a team of data scientists focused on safety and moderation initiatives.
• Mentor, coach, and grow high-performing individuals and teams, establishing clear goals and professional development plans.
• Drive analytics strategy and provide actionable insights to influence product and operational decisions.
• Oversee the development and evaluation of ML and LLM models to improve moderation and safety systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, operations, and design to shape roadmap and strategic priorities.
• Ensure data quality, including ETL processes, reporting, and metrics definition for experimentation and measurement.
• Promote best practices in experimentation, causal inference, A/B testing, and metric governance.
• Communicate complex technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• 5+ years of experience managing high-performing data science teams (ideally 5+ direct reports).
• Proven track record in analytics for trust, safety, or moderation in consumer technology products.
• Strong expertise in ML/LLM development, evaluation, and operationalization.
• Deep knowledge of experimentation design, causal inference, and product analytics.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or R for data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into actionable recommendations.
