The Epic Compliance team works across multiple functions to support the company's effort to comply with applicable laws and regulations. We define the strategy for scaling compliance across our Epic.

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for an experienced Privacy Engineer to design and scale innovative Data Governance solutions. This is a highly technical role with broad impact, where you will identify, design, build and lead cross-functional Data Governance initiatives across our products and services.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate with security, legal, technology services and data teams to ensure privacy by design into new products and features.
  • Contribute to the overall Privacy roadmap and drive forward the development of policies, standards, guidelines and best practices, and to facilitate coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Design, develop and use Privacy Infrastructure (e.g. data catalog, classification, lineage) to enable Data Protection at scale.
  • Design and integrate technical privacy controls and safeguards into Epic’s data platforms.
  • Research, apply and provide guidance on Privacy Enhancing Technologies.
  • Drive complex, cross-functional Privacy Engineering initiatives from concept to delivery.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience as a Privacy Engineer, Security Engineer, Data Engineer or Software Engineer working on large scale data analytics and distributed systems.
  • Programming skills in one or more languages with hands-on expertise in designing and building privacy controls into production systems.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and modern data engineering practices.
  • Ability to translate regulatory frameworks into actionable technical requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Strong systems thinking and problem solving skills, with experience in data flow analysis, threat modeling and privacy impact assessments.
  • Deep understanding of privacy concepts such as data minimization and retention, de-identification, encryption and access control.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly across engineering, product and legal teams.

This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
