Role and Responsibilities

Senior Privacy Program Manager

As the Senior Privacy Program Manager, the candidate will lead privacy and regulatory initiatives, assess and mitigate privacy risks, and promote a culture of privacy within the organization. The ideal candidate will have significant years of experience in a senior privacy role, a strong grasp of global privacy regulations, and excellent communication skills.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Stay abreast of global privacy regulations and assist in creating thoughtful compliance strategies that consider risks to users, the business, and employees
  • At the direction of the Privacy Lead, conduct regular assessments to identify and address privacy risks and vulnerabilities
  • Lead efforts to develop and maintain privacy policies, repeatable processes and mechanisms, and documentation related to compliance efforts
  • Oversee and independently conduct privacy impact assessments for new and existing initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles
  • Manage an effective incident response plan for privacy incidents
  • Lead investigations and coordinate responses to privacy-related incidents

AdTech Privacy Risk Management

  • Evaluate and manage privacy risks associated with third-party vendors specifically within the AdTech space
  • Ensure that vendor contracts include appropriate privacy and data protection clauses

Privacy Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic guidance on privacy compliance and best practices to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate privacy considerations into business processes
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the Privacy Lead on the status of the privacy program

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging privacy issues to proactively enhance the privacy program
  • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments to measure the effectiveness of the privacy program
  • Develop and deliver privacy training programs for employees and contractors
  • Promote privacy awareness and champion a culture of privacy across the organization

Qualifications / Skills

  • Significant proven experience in a senior privacy role, with a track record of successfully managing privacy programs in complex organizations
  • Experience navigating privacy considerations facing digital advertising including knowledge of third-party AdTech technology, dataflows and processes
  • Experience with AI privacy privacy requirements and privacy reviews
  • In-depth knowledge of global privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global and domestic data protection laws
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience operationalizing and/or managing global privacy requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • History of delivering complex regulatory-driven process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies that demonstrates analytical decision-making

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Experience in data privacy or regulatory compliance in a highly technical environment
    • Demonstrated experience automating and improving privacy program processes such as privacy impact assessments, balancing tests, etc.
    • Professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT
    • Experience evaluating the design and effectiveness of controls
    • Experience in working directly with auditors for compliance assessments

    Salary Range Pay Transparency: Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York, NY is expected to be between Base range: $190,000 ~ $215,000K. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
