Our team
Hiring fraud is one of the fastest growing threats companies face, and we are the team stopping it. We are a small group of builders who move fast, ship often and care deeply about getting it right.
Deel Security protects companies from hiring fraud. That means fake identities, deepfaked interviews, proxy candidates and people who are not who they claim to be. Deel Background Checks screens candidates before they join. Together they help customers trust the people they hire.
Our detection combines identity verification, deepfake detection, AI analysis and human review. Fraud teams and customers act on what we surface every day, so how we run operations matters as much as the models.
The role
We are hiring a Fraud Product Operations Manager to own product operations and fraud operations for Deel Security and Background Checks. You will report to the Product Manager for Deel Security and work remotely within EMEA time zones.
You start as a hands-on owner. You will run the review operation yourself, set the standard for how fraud decisions get made and turn what you see in cases into product improvements. As the business grows, the scope grows with you, toward leading FraudOps end to end and building the team around it.
This role sits between fraud analysts, engineering, AI/ML, customer success and our clients. You will need deep fraud expertise, a relentless focus on operational excellence and the ability to build trust with internal teams and customers alike.
What you will own
Product operations
Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. With scalable benefits, rewards, and perks, our total rewards programs reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all.
Unless otherwise agreed, we will communicate with job applicants using Deel-specific emails, which include @deel.com and other acquired company emails like @payspace.com and @paygroup.com. You can view the most up-to-date job listings at Deel by visiting our careers page.
Deel welcomes persons with disabilities to apply to any of our open roles. We will provide application and/or interview accommodations on request throughout the recruitment, selection and assessment process for applicants with disabilities or other needs. If you require application and/or interview accommodations, please inform our Talent Acquisition Team via email (recruiting@deel.com) and a team member will be in touch to ensure your equal participation.
As part of our hiring process, we primarily rely on interviews and role-related assessments. In limited cases, we may also consider informal background information relevant to the role, in line with our privacy and fairness obligations.
This application process may utilise Automated Employment Decision Tools (AEDT) and AI systems to assist in evaluating candidates based on experience level, technical skills and qualifications. This processing is conducted in compliance with applicable Data Protection, AI Governance and Labour Laws. We ensure human oversight is maintained in all final hiring decisions. Your personal data is not used to train AI models. For more information on how we process your personal data, please see our Recruitment Privacy Policy.

Our team
Hiring fraud is one of the fastest growing threats companies face, and we are the team stopping it. We are a small group of builders who move fast, ship often and care deeply about getting it right.
- Hard working. We own outcomes, not tasks, and we do not settle for good enough.
- AI native. AI is how we work every day, from detecting deepfakes to running our own operations. You will use it to do in hours what used to take weeks.
- Detail maniacs. In fraud, the signal hides in the details. We check, then check again.

What you will own
Product operations
- Product escalations. Own product issues raised by customers, partners and internal teams. Triage them, reproduce them, route them to engineering and close the loop with whoever raised them.
- Invoicing and billing operations. Own usage tracking, invoicing inputs and billing accuracy for Deel Security and Background Checks, working with Finance.
- Day-to-day operations. Own customer setup and configuration, vendor coordination and the processes that keep both products running.
- Launch readiness. Make sure support, customer success and sales know what is changing, and that processes and docs are ready before each release.
- The review operation. Run the fraud review queue end to end, including triage, prioritization, escalations and turnaround. Set SLAs and quality targets, then hit them consistently as volume grows.
- Playbooks and decision standards. Write and maintain the fraud playbooks, SOPs and decision criteria analysts work from. Run QA and calibration so the same case gets the same call no matter who reviews it.
- The fraud to product loop. Spot patterns across cases, false positives and missed fraud. Turn them into clear requirements for engineering and AI/ML, then confirm the fix worked in production.
- Client-facing fraud work. Be the fraud expert our customers rely on. Walk them through risk findings, handle escalations and run regular reviews that build their confidence in our decisions.
- Metrics and reporting. Define how we measure operations (escalation volume and resolution time, billing accuracy, review turnaround, decision accuracy, catch rate) and report on it to leadership and customers.
- 3+ years of hands-on fraud work, such as fraud operations, trust and safety, risk or financial crime investigations
- A product or business operations background. You have run escalations, billing or other processes at scale, with SLAs, queues, QA and clear ownership.
- Sharp fraud judgment. You can look at a case, explain why it is or is not fraud and turn that reasoning into rules others can follow.
- Comfort with data. You can pull and read your own numbers (SQL or similar) to find patterns and size problems.
- Strong people skills. You build trust quickly with analysts, engineers and customers, and you can explain a risk decision to a non-expert.
- Ownership. You notice what is broken, fix it without being asked and follow through until it stays fixed.
- Experience with background checks, identity verification, KYC or hiring and employment fraud
- Familiarity with deepfakes, synthetic identities or AI-driven fraud
- Time in a product operations role, working closely with product managers and engineers
- Experience managing or mentoring analysts, or building an operations team from scratch
- A B2B SaaS or HR tech background with enterprise customers
Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. With scalable benefits, rewards, and perks, our total rewards programs reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all.
- Our salary range reflects gross base salary. For commercial roles with commission eligibility, this figure represents On-Target Earnings (OTE), inclusive of base salary and target commission.
- Salary ranges are quoted in USD as a consistent global reference. Your offer will be localized to your country's currency using a market-aligned conversion.
- Final pay is based on objective, job-related criteria including experience, skills, and location.
- We don't ask about salary history. Offers are based on the role and what you bring to it.
- Stock grant opportunities dependent on your role, employment status and location
- Additional perks and benefits based on your employment status and country
- Optional flexible working office membership, with IWG
