The role

The Senior Technical Program Manager, Child Safety Technology & Industry Adoption advances the Tech Coalition’s efforts to strengthen industry adoption of child safety technologies. This role translates strategic priorities into actionable programs, pilots, and implementation support that help companies prevent, detect, and respond to online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Sitting at the intersection of technology, member engagement, and cross-industry collaboration, the Senior Technical Program Manager leads initiatives that enable companies of all sizes to operationalize safety technologies and best practices. Combining technical depth with strong program execution, this role helps ensure that innovation leads to measurable adoption and meaningful impact across the ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Program leadership

  • Lead execution of Tech Adoption and Tech Innovation initiatives that support member adoption of child safety technologies.
  • Define program objectives, success metrics, and learning agendas aligned with the Coalition’s broader program strategy.
  • Identify emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities where technology can strengthen prevention, detection, reporting, and removal efforts.
  • Build learning agendas, OKRs, and feedback loops to evaluate outcomes and guide continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong subject matter expertise in child safety technologies and serve as a trusted expert to members and partners in industry.

Technical program execution

  • Manage delivery of technology pilots, programs, and other initiatives with members and partners.
  • Drive planning and prioritization, identify top priorities and opportunities to drive tech adoption and enable decision-making across membership.
  • Define scope and requirements, and manage execution with software development partners, members, working groups, and other external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and support the Tech Innovation Advisory Council and new knowledge sharing groups relevant to technology adoption and innovation.
  • Manage the tech innovation fund, identify potential pilots and partnerships based on member needs and drive projects from conception to release.
  • Drive development of member resources, coordinate webinars and trainings, plan in-person events such as hackathons as related to this portfolio.
  • Understand deeply and provide technical expertise and support industry-wide tech adoption through the Pathways program.

Technical advisory, mentorship & consulting

  • Develop and deliver new technical consulting services including tools, platforms, guidance, and implementation support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design scalable offerings that meet members where they are, across company size and maturity.
  • Support development of new consulting services, such as:
    • Technology adoption and readiness support
    • Implementation guidance and best-practice operationalization
    • Applied technical assistance and cross-member learning
  • Ensure services are actionable, relevant, and responsive to industry needs.

Partnerships & stakeholder engagement

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic partners and joint initiatives, particularly with technical vendors.
  • Represent the Tech Coalition in webinars, multi-stakeholder forums and external events.
  • Communicate clearly with members and stakeholders on priorities, timelines, progress, and risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in technical product or program management (technology, nonprofit, or related sector)
  • Deep subject matter expertise in child safety technologies used by industry trust and safety teams
  • Experience defining projects, gathering requirements, and writing specifications
  • Experience coordinating scope, schedules, and delivery across multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile, SCRUM, and/or Lean Startup methodologies a plus
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and similar platforms
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent project management, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a lean, mission-driven organization
