Make it easier for everyone to experience the world, safely.

At Booking.com, our mission is to make it easier for everyone to experience the world. But "easier" must also mean "safer." We are looking for a Senior Trust & Safety Lead to join our Security & Resilience team in Amsterdam. In this strategic leadership role, you won't just respond to threats—you will anticipate them, shaping the Trust & Safety (T&S) agenda across our global organization to protect millions of partners, customers, and employees.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Lead, you are a strategic thought partner to our leadership and a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Public Relations. You will lead complex, high-impact initiatives that strengthen the company’s resilience and ensure our safety solutions are scalable and data-driven.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive Strategy: Design and execute the risk management strategy, defining success metrics that align with company-wide objectives.

  • Lead High-Complexity Projects: Independently manage strategic programs from start to finish, identifying blockers and creating robust mitigation plans.

  • Act as an SME: Apply deep expertise in T&S operations to design risk mitigation frameworks across policies, products, and strategic initiatives.

  • Influence & Collaborate: Build long-term relationships with senior management (VP/ELT) and external partners (NGOs, Law Enforcement) to gain acceptance for strategic safety goals.

  • Turn Data into Insights: Use qualitative and quantitative risk signals to inform annual planning and resource allocation.

Who You Are

We are looking for a "protagonist"—someone who takes ownership, seeks feedback, and acts as a role model for learning.

  • Experienced Leader: You have 8+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in Trust & Safety within a commercial environment.

  • Strategic & Analytical: You have "Mastery" level knowledge in safety governance, crisis management, and driving risk management strategies.

  • Communicator: You possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of advising at all levels of the organization.

  • Influence: Able to explain assumptions and outcomes to all levels of management and proven track record working cross-functionally in high pressure and high pace environments.

  • Resilient: You have the psychological resilience to work with sensitive or distressing matters and can perform under pressure.

  • Qualified: You likely hold a Master's degree or specialized diploma in a field like International Relations, Criminology, or Homeland Security, and carry certifications like CISM or COSO ERM.

  • Mindset & Behaviours: Self-starter, entrepreneurial and proactive. Risk minded with strong business judgement and commercial understanding. Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

  • Ownership & Impact: Operates independently, sets strategic direction, accountable for outcomes. Confident in building and defending business cases.
