Brief Info About Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.

The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.

Information About The Position

As the Team Lead of Data Science & Analytics, Trust & Safety - Detection, you will help shape the systems that protect millions of people using Vinted.

In this role, you will lead the Decision Science work across two Detection teams. You’ll help shape strategy and delivery by combining people leadership with strong product sense, analytics, experimentation, and measurement. This role is focused on helping teams make better decisions: defining success metrics, designing robust experiments, generating insights, and making sure data is used well in everyday product and policy decisions.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science, and play a key role in making sure Detection teams are solving the right problems and measuring impact in the right way. You’ll support and grow a team of Decision Scientists, while also staying close to the work yourself.

This is a great opportunity for a strong individual contributor who is excited to step into people leadership for the first time, while remaining hands-on in analytics and experimentation.

In this position, you’ll

  • Shape the analytics and experimentation strategy across two Detection teams, helping turn ambiguous problems into clear priorities, metrics, and decisions.
  • Lead high-impact analytical work that improves how we detect malicious activity and evaluate Trust & Safety impact.
  • Define success metrics and decision criteria, so teams can measure progress clearly and make better product and policy decisions.
  • Drive rigorous experimentation and causal thinking, ensuring changes are evaluated with the right methodology and the right level of confidence.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and leadership to align on priorities and translate insights into action.
  • Raise the quality bar for decision science work through strong problem definition, clear communication, robust analysis, and reproducible outputs.
  • Grow and support Decision Scientists through coaching, feedback, prioritisation, and clear expectations.
  • Stay hands-on where needed: contribute to analyses, support experiment design, review work, and help unblock complex problems.

About You

  • You’re excited to step into people leadership and grow others, even if this would be your first formal management role.
  • You have experience in analytics, experimentation, and decision-making in product development.
  • You know how to turn ambiguous business or product questions into clear analytical approaches and measurable outcomes.
  • You’re comfortable working in cross-functional teams and influencing decisions across a range of stakeholders.
  • You communicate clearly and can explain complex topics in a simple, structured, and persuasive way.
  • You’re hands-on enough to review work, challenge assumptions, and support the team on difficult analytical problems.
  • You have strong skills in SQL and Python, and you’re comfortable working with large datasets.
  • You’re fluent in English, both written and spoken.
