Series OS is recruiting on behalf of our client, BlinkLink. The advisor will work directly with BlinkLink's founder, James Willis.
About BlinkLink
BlinkLink is an anonymous proximity app for meeting people when you're in the same place at the same time: a bar, a conference, a campus. If two people both "blink," they connect. If not, nobody ever knows it happened. There are no profiles to browse, no messaging strangers, and no location shown to anyone.
BlinkLink is in development as a native iOS and Android app and launches first in Miami, partnering directly with venues, events and universities.
About the role
Because BlinkLink is built on proximity, safety and privacy are the foundation of the product, not features added later. BlinkLink is looking for an experienced trust, safety or privacy professional to advise the founder while the app is being built, so these decisions are made right before launch.
This is an equity-only advisory role at about 2–3 hours per month.
What you'll do
- Review how BlinkLink collects, stores and uses location and user data
- Pressure-test safety features, including account verification, blocking, reporting and mutual-only matching
- Review the privacy policy and data practices before App Store and Google Play submission
- Identify ways the app could be misused, especially against women, and recommend protections
- Advise on content moderation and incident response for the admin panel
- Join a short monthly call with the founder, plus occasional reviews as needed
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in trust and safety, privacy, or data protection
- Hands-on experience at a dating, social, or location-based app, or with mobile app data privacy
- Working knowledge of App Store and Google Play privacy requirements
- Familiarity with privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA and GDPR
- Clear, direct communicator who can explain risk in plain language to a founder
Nice to have
- Experience launching safety features at an early-stage startup
- Background in user verification or identity systems
- A network of trust and safety or privacy professionals
Compensation
This is an equity-only role with no cash pay. Equity in BlinkLink is granted through a standard advisor agreement, vesting over two years.
For the right person, this role can grow into a full-time position leading trust and safety once BlinkLink raises its first round of funding.
