Contract
On-site
Mumbai City, Maharashtra, India

About the role : As a Content Infringement & Rights Management Consultant, you will be responsible in protecting our intellectual property across digital platforms and the open web - identifying infringements, issuing legal notices, driving takedowns, and working hand-in-hand with our legal team to enforce and recover rights at scale.

This is not a monitoring-only role. You will be expected to own cases end-to-end — from detection to resolution — and operate as the bridge between our digital rights operations and legal enforcement.

How to apply?

Apply via job posting only. Other modes of application will not be accepted.

Responsibilities

Infringement Monitoring & Detection

  • Proactively monitor platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Spotify, and other DSPs for unauthorized use of Times Music content
  • Identify infringing content across brands, influencers, agencies, and commercial entities using our music without a license
  • Detect duplicate uploads, pirated albums, and unlicensed sync usage across apps, websites, and social media
  • Work with AI tools to scale detection across the catalogue

Legal Notices & Enforcement

  • Send cease & desist notices, rights violation letters, and demand notices to infringing parties — including brands, distributors, aggregators, and individuals
  • Coordinate with the legal team to review and finalize notices before dispatch, ensuring accuracy and appropriate legal language
  • Maintain a log of all notices issued, responses received, and follow-up actions required
  • Escalate non-responsive or repeat infringers to the legal team for further action including litigation where necessary

Platform Actions & Takedowns

  • File and track copyright takedown requests across YouTube CMS, META Rights Manager, TikTok, and other platform-specific tools
  • Handle counterclaims, disputes, and reinstatement requests in coordination with the legal team
  • Manage brand-specific infringements — identifying when commercial brands or agencies use Times Music tracks in ads, reels, or campaigns without a sync license
  • Liaise directly with platform trust & safety and content policy teams for escalations

Legal Team Coordination

  • Work closely with the in-house legal team on all enforcement actions, escalations, and documentation
  • Support in preparing case files, evidence packages, and correspondence for legal proceedings
  • Assist in drafting licensing proposals for infringing parties who are eligible for retroactive licensing rather than takedown
  • Keep the legal team informed of infringement trends, platform policy changes, and recurring violators

Revenue Recovery & Licensing

  • Identify and pursue revenue recovery opportunities from platforms, aggregators, and brands using unlicensed content
  • Support licensing discussions with infringing commercial entities where monetization is viable
  • Track and report on recovered revenue, settlements, and ongoing licensing discussions

Data, Reporting & Strategy

  • Maintain comprehensive trackers for all cases — infringement identified, notices sent, takedown status, disputes, and outcomes
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for internal stakeholders including legal, business affairs, and senior management
  • Analyze infringement patterns to identify high-risk platforms, geographies, or content categories and recommend preventive action

Who We're Looking For

  • 4–5 years of experience in copyright enforcement, digital rights management, music licensing, or a related legal/content role
  • Strong understanding of copyright law fundamentals and how they apply to music and digital content
  • Hands-on experience with platform tools — YouTube CMS, META Rights Manager, or equivalent
  • Prior experience drafting or coordinating legal notices, demand letters, or formal platform communications
