About the Team
The Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team’s work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.

In Korea, we work in a dynamic regulatory and geopolitical environment, supporting a growing portfolio spanning short-form video, LIVE, e-commerce, data infrastructure, and AI-driven services. Our team structure emphasizes collaboration and operational discipline. As the Korea business continues to expand, we are strengthening our policy foundation to ensure both resilience and scalable growth.

Role Overview
We are seeking a structured, policy-oriented, and highly collaborative Public Policy & Government Affairs Manager to complement our existing team and strengthen the execution backbone of our Korea policy function.

This role is ideal for someone who excels in regulatory analysis, documentation discipline, and cross-functional coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and alongside existing team members to ensure consistency, accuracy, and steady progress across multiple policy workstreams.

This role reports to the Head of Public Policy, Korea.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Monitoring & Structured Analysis
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to digital platforms, LIVE, e-commerce, data infrastructure, and AI-related services.
- Produce clear, structured, and timely policy briefings for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain policy tracking systems and ensure documentation continuity.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Product, LIVE, E-commerce, Data Center, AI, Legal, Communications, and Trust & Safety teams.
- Ensure regulatory considerations are communicated accurately and consistently.
- Support alignment between business initiatives and evolving regulatory requirements.

Government & Industry Engagement Support
- Assist in preparation of briefing materials for meetings with government agencies, regulators, and National Assembly offices.
- Support follow-up documentation and internal action tracking.
- Contribute to policy submissions, consultation responses, and industry statements as needed.

Risk & Process Stability
- Proactively flag emerging regulatory risks and inconsistencies.
- Support development of stable and scalable policy processes as business complexity increases.
- Help preserve institutional knowledge and ensure smooth workflow within the team.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
- JD or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of Korea’s legislative and regulatory processes.
- Demonstrated experience in structured analysis and written communication.
- Excellent communication skills in Korean, and business level communication skill in English (written & verbal) as this role will require working with both external and internal stakeholders in both languages.
- High level of reliability, discretion, and accountability.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team-based environments.

Preferred Qualification(s)
- Experience in technology, digital platforms, telecommunications, AI, or related sectors.
- Familiarity with digital policy issues including privacy, online safety, competition, AI governance, or data infrastructure.
- Experience drafting policy briefs, regulatory submissions, or consultation responses.
- A history of successful cross-functional team collaboration with deep experience influencing others to successfully implement initiatives.
- High level of discipline and self-motivation suitable for a fast-paced tech environment.
