We are seeking a Short-Term Employee to provide secondment cover for the Public Policy Manager, Central & Eastern Europe role. This position reports to the Director of Public Policy for Central and Eastern Europe and sits within the Central Europe (CE) Public Policy team. The role is primarily responsible for managing Meta's public policy engagement in Poland, with additional coverage of initiatives involving other Central & Eastern European markets as needed. You will work closely with the wider Europe Policy team, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders to advance Meta's policy priorities, with a particular focus on the Polish market.

Responsibilities

  • In close alignment with CEE Policy Director, develop and execute Meta's public policy strategy in Poland
  • Build and maintain relationships with Polish government officials, policymakers, parliamentarians, and other key stakeholders to foster their support for Meta’s policy priorities in Europe
  • Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory developments affecting Meta's products and services in Poland
  • Represent Meta at external meetings, conferences, and public policy events in Poland
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Strategy, Campaigns, Legal and Communications to ensure alignment on policy positions and respond to ongoing policy challenges
  • Coordinate with the broader Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) Policy team on pan-regional initiatives
  • Brief internal stakeholders on policy and political developments in Poland
  • Support third-party engagement and coalition-building efforts in Poland
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy positions, and conversation points for executives


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or a related field
  • Understanding of the political and regulatory landscape in Poland
  • Knowledge of EU policy frameworks and their implementation in Poland
  • Proven experience in communication skills in English
  • Professional working proficiency in Polish
  • Experience engaging with government officials and policymakers
  • Experience of consistently working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on technology policy issues (e.g., content regulation, AI, data, digital services, disruptive technology)
  • Established network of policy stakeholders in Poland
  • Experience working in or with multinational technology companies
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience of using emerging technologies including new AI tools and willing to develop in that domain
  • Familiarity with other CEE markets
