Join Amazon's International Public Policy team - a dynamic group of highly talented and experienced professionals who collaborate closely with business counterparts to advance Amazon's global public policy objectives. We're seeking a Public Policy Manager to serve as a key professional on our Japan team, managing a comprehensive portfolio of policy issues focused on the Japanese market.



Key job responsibilities
• Lead high-impact advocacy campaigns in Japan, primarily focusing on technology and business regulations that shape the digital economy
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior government officials, politicians, industry partners, and key external stakeholders
• Keep business leaders informed of critical policy developments while collaborating to create and align policy strategies with business objectives
• Monitor, analyze, and anticipate policy changes across Japan's regulatory landscape
• Report directly to the Director of Public Policy, Japan, contributing to strategic decision-making

- 8+ years of public policy development and implementation experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Deep, nuanced understanding of Japanese government structures, legislative processes, and regulatory frameworks Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
