Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, working on technology issues or the policy environments that surround them.
  • 7 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean and English fluently to support client relationship management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience advising and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to design and deliver products.
  • Experience working with international teams and a variety of stakeholders, and in executing strategies to deliver solutions.
  • Expertise in privacy related issues.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand technical and policy issues.

About the job:

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives and advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform perception and direction. You will help educate policymakers and key opinion formers, advise internal teams on the political landscape, and work across Google to develop coherent, business plans to advocate for Google’s public policy priorities. You will find the opportunity for the business and reputation, mitigating the risk through collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders including policy makers, industry bodies, and third-parties to share information.
  • Lead public policy strategy for Google’s service and product areas, including working with cross-functional teams to support global business objectives and drive positive policy and regulatory outcomes.
  • Work with Product, Business, Engineering teams as well as the regional policy teams to advise on the policy and political implications of product development in Google’s service and product areas.
  • Engage with policymakers, industry players and key opinion formers to shape policy and political dialogue that impact Google’s business objectives.
